Software for the jobs nobody enjoys.

We build small, bespoke tools for the repetitive work that eats into your week, shaped around how you already work.

An example week
  • Busywork
  • Your work
  • Taken care of

Before: busywork like re-keying orders, chasing replies and weekly reports takes up a large part of every day.

The jobs we take off your plate.

  • Re-typing orders from emails
  • Copying figures between spreadsheets
  • Chasing the same replies every week
  • Building the Monday report by hand
  • Checking timesheets line by line
  • Renaming and filing PDFs
  • Updating three systems with one change
  • Matching invoices to payments

Not another suite to learn.

Big software often tries to do everything, then asks you to change how you work to fit it. We start from how you already work.

  • Off-the-shelf suites: Often hundreds of features you’ll never use

Avellane: Only what the job needs

  • Off-the-shelf suites: Often weeks of setup and training

Avellane: Quick to pick up, with help getting started

  • Off-the-shelf suites: Your process bent to fit the software

Avellane: Software shaped around your process

What we build.

Bespoke tools

Simple software built around a job your team does again and again. It cuts down the spreadsheet juggling, the copy-paste and the checking by eye.

For example

  • Quotes and estimates
  • Job scheduling
  • Order tracking
  • Stock counts
  • Timesheets
  • Client portals
  • Bookings
  • Reporting

Automations

We connect the systems you already use, so the same details don’t need typing in twice.

AI, where it helps

Sorting, drafting and summarising, shaped to the job in hand. If AI isn’t the right answer for your problem, we’ll say so.

How we work.

No big reveal at the end. You see it working early, and help shape it as it’s built.

  1. Listen

We start by understanding how the job gets done today, and check with you that we’ve got it right.

  2. Show

Early on, you get a working version to try, so you can tell us what’s wrong before it’s finished.

  3. Build

We work in short rounds, each one something you can use and comment on.

  4. Look after

Once it’s live, we keep it running and make changes as your work changes.

Yours, and looked after.

You own the code we write for you. Most clients would rather not deal with hosting, so we can host it and look after it for you. If you’d ever like to take it elsewhere, we’ll hand everything over.

Hosting and payment arrangements depend on the project, and we’ll talk them through with you.

When something needs fixing or changing, you talk to the person who built it.

How we think about it.

Fit the work, not the other way round

The best tool is one your team barely notices. We’d rather learn your process than ask you to change it.

Keep people in charge

Where we use AI, we aim to leave the decisions that matter with a person. What that looks like depends on the job.

Start small

Begin with the job that costs you the most time. If it helps, there’s always more to build later.

Tell us what’s eating your week.

A sentence or two is plenty. We aim to reply within two working days.
